We are open!

We are now open and scheduling appointments and providing eye exams. We thank you for your patience as we closed our doors for routine eye care due to COVID-19. The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) has allowed us to begin examining patients with strict guidelines. Governor Scott’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order ended May 15th allowing us to resume comprehensive exams.

We are looking forward to providing excellent, quality eye care in a safe and healthy environment. Some of the changes you will encounter include:

– All staff members, patients and anyone visiting our clinic will be required to wear a mask. Please bring your masks with you to your appointment.
– All patients will have their temperatures taken upon entering the eye clinic with a non-contact thermometer. Any patient with a temperature of 100.4 degrees F or greater will need to reschedule their appointment.
– All patients and staff members will be asked about recent illness, new respiratory problems, difficulty breathing, chills, cold, flu symptoms or any other symptoms related to COVID-19. A consent form will be signed by patients and employees acknowledging no recent symptoms.
– We have installed sneeze guards in the reception area.
– Patients will be asked to enter our building from the ramp off the driveway on the right side of the building and to exit through the front door.
– We will be limiting the number of patients and employees in the clinic to accommodate the recommended 6 foot social distancing guidelines per the CDC.
– If possible, do not bring others to your appointment but if necessary, please limit any patient companions to a parent, guardian or caretaker. Ask your driver to stay in their vehicle if it is safe to do so.
– We encourage patients to make appointment requests by e-mailing us at info@middleburyeye.com or calling us at 802-388-2811.
– If possible, please print and complete our Welcome Form and our COVID-19 Consent Form from our website www.middleburyeye.com and bring it with you to your appointment.
– Staff is required to sanitize all touched surfaces between patient encounters as well as door handles, counters, chairs and common patient areas multiple times per day.
– Please use hand sanitizer upon entering the eye clinic.
– If you are scheduled for a Visual Field test, we will supply you with a disposable eye patch.
– All eyeglass frames will be cleaned and disinfected after a patient tries on glasses and prior to being put back up on our frame board display.
– A drop-off box will be available for frame repairs and adjustments. We will also continue to have a drop box just outside our porch entrance for pickup of glasses and contact lenses. Please call ahead to coordinate the drop-off and pickup. 802-388-2811.

We really look forward to getting back to work providing you with all your visual needs and addressing your concerns. Thank you to all our patients for your understanding and continued patience as we navigate this difficult time.

Stay well and be safe,

Drs. Dan, Diane, Monica, Kayla and Ally, Heather, Chris, Miranda, Nikki, Ed, Jess, Jeanne and Kendall
